A party has been held for Violet Sutton as she celebrated her 100th birthday today.
The Lord Mayor of Bradford, Councillor Robin Owens, was among the guests at the event held at the Heathers residential home in St Paul's Road, Manningham, Bradford, where she lived for many years.
Mrs Sutton's son, Jim, himself a spritely 79, accompanied his mother to the party.
Her grandson Christopher Sutton, 32, said: "My grandmother is a really nice person and has always been really pleasant. She is a little forgetful now but is still going strong.
"My Godfather always said she would live to a hundred and he's been proved right."
Mrs Sutton now lives in a care home in Baildon.
