WEST Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service have revealed how many incidents they attended last year.
2021 was a busy year for firefighters in the region.
From January 1 to November 30 of the first year of this decade, West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service attended 989 house fires, 503 crashes, 52 water rescues, and 155 animal rescues.
They also rescued 84 people from fires and 1,638 individuals following special service calls.
West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service tweeted: "2021 was a busy year.
"We attended: 989 house fires, 503 road traffic collision, 52 water rescues, 155 animal rescues, 84 people rescued from fires, and 1,638 people rescued following special service calls.
"That's a lot of fire engines.
