Rail commuters are set to face severe disruption throughout today's tea-time rush hour, with services on most routes in the district still suspended.

Late this afternoon, Northern Rail said trains were still not running between Ilkley and Guiseley, Keighley and Skipton, or between Bradford Interchance and Leeds.

A limited service was operating between Bradford Forster Square and Leeds, while the Leeds to Blackpool North service was operating as far as Hebden Bridge.

The disruption is due to heavy rain and flash floods across the district.

A Northern Rail spokesman said: "In terms of rush hour, we will not have trains in the right place even if things improved straight away.

"If you don't have to travel, please don't.

"We are doing everything we can to provide some level of service. We are trying to put replacement bus services on.

"Advice to passengers wanting to travel from Bradford Inter-change to Leeds is to use the limited service out of Forster Square."
