A campaign to encourage small businesses across West Yorkshire to report crimes committed against them has been launched by the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB).
The Every Time, Every Crime Campaign, urges all small businesses to keep a written record every time they are a victim of crime, however small.
The one-year campaign will highlight the extent of crime against small businesses, from theft and arson to vandalism, which it claims is under reported in official figures.
The Yorkshire and Humber Policy Committee of the FSB, which represents the interests of more than 16,000 member businesses across the region, has been calling for several years for police forces' record on tackling crime against business to be included in the assessment of their performance in the same way as domestic crime.
