A BRADFORD Indian restaurant was delighted to win a prestigious Good Food Award.
Last week, Kiplings, on Harrogate Road in Greengates, received the Gold Seal for 2021 - which is reserved to those achieving an award for three consecutive years or more.
The accolade reflects its popularity among customers who both nominated and voted for them to win.
The award is judged on factors such as customer feedback over the previous year, food hygiene standards and food quality.
Kiplings is a relaxed eatery serving both regional Indian classics and innovative modern Asian dishes.
They offer a world of flavours and spices with their chef preparing all their authentic dishes completely fresh.
Ehsan Khan, 21, has been the manager at the restaurant for the last four years, working seven days a week, and credits his staff and customers for the award.
"It feels very good. It is a great achievement," he said.
"It is a family business and we have been here since 1994. I am very thankful to the staff and especially the customers who have been supporting us through all of that time.
"It has been difficult to get people back in since Covid but we have learned to adapt.
"We are a restaurant-takeaway. There are 45 seats inside and we do a delivery service as well.
"Be passionate about where you eat is our motto at Kiplings. Great food, great place and great atmosphere."
A key cog to the eatery is Eshan's father Tariq Mahmood.
Back in 2016, Mr Mahmood was named the best at his craft in the north of England, winning the Chef of the Year (North) accolade at the English Curry Awards.
He has been a curry chef for more than 30 years and has worked for Kipling’s for over a quarter of a century.
Telegraph & Argus reporter Brad Deas is a long-time customer of Kiplings and provided this glowing praise.
He said: "I grew up eating the finest Indian food at Kiplings and it's still my absolute favourite today, decades later.
"It's not just about the amazing curry, but the atmosphere inside the place - friendly, warm and always willing to go the extra mile.
"The quality and vibe of the place has always remained, despite several transformations in the time I've been going.
"It's so good to see their effort and hard work has been rewarded with yet another award - much deserved."
