Three new fire station managers have been appointed in the Bradford district.

Chris Booth has been appointed Bradford fire station manager, Andy Newman will be taking over at Bingley and Ilkley while Shipley and Idle are set to welcome Steve Richings.

Mr Booth first joined West Yorkshire Fire Service in 1989 and served at Rothwell, Bramley, Wetherby and Shipley before joining the operational support unit in Wakefield.

Mr Newman joined the service after leaving Bingley Grammar School. He started his career at Bingley where his father also served as station manager from 1975 to 1981.

He has also served at Halifax, the brigade's International Training Centre.

Mr Richings joined 24 years ago and spent the first 15 at Bramley and Moortown.

Bradford district manager Keith Robinson, who will lead the team, said: "Each can make a significant contribution towards making the Bradford district safer."
