A father-of-two has died in hospital after he was in an accident with a motorbike as he walked across a road in Shipley.
Neil Slater, 64, was in collision with a red and white Honda motorbike on the A650 Bradford Road, just minutes after he left his home in Wensley Avenue to go to work in Bradford city centre.
He was taken to Bradford Royal Infirmary with multiple injuries after the accident on Monday.
Mr Slater, who had three grandchildren, died with his two daughters by his bedside, early yesterday.
The motorcyclist, who has not been named by police, was travelling towards Keighley when the accident happened at 7am.
The 41-year-old rider, of Keighley, also suffered injuries in the crash but they are not believed to be life threatening, a police spokesman said.
Officers today made fresh appeals for any witnesses to come forward.
A police spokesman said Mr Slater was wearing a high-visibility vest at the time of the accident.
Anyone with any information should contact PC John Lawson, of Keighley Road Policing unit on (01535) 617059.
