A 26-year-old veterinary nurse travelling to Africa to help disadvantaged children has thanked people for their donations of education materials.
Jodie Foster, of Long Lee, Keighley, is travelling to Cape Town in South Africa on a volunteer programme.
The month-long project, run by i-to-i, a group which organises overseas voluntary work, will involve teaching English to children with mental and physical problems.
Miss Foster appealed to Telegraph & Argus readers to donate reading or colouring materials for the project.
She particularly thanked Tracey Thackray, of Bradford, Torrington Orthopaedics, Calder Vets and White cross vets for their donations.
"I just need cash donations now - to post all the heavy books I have been donated," she said.
Miss Foster can be contacted by email at jf.vn@tiscali.co.uk.
