TRIBUTES have been paid to a Bradford woman who was found dead in her flat in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Bori Benko, who was 24, was a youth worker and a "generous and committed" member of her local community.
Police were called to her flat on Sherborne Road at around 4.44am on Sunday, after reports that a woman had suffered serious injuries.
A murder investigation has since been launched, and a 21-year-old man is in custody.
Originally from Hungary, Bori moved to the UK in 2016.
She has been described as an "energetic" member of Bradford Cathedral, who will be "very sadly missed" by friends and family both here and in her home country.
In a social media post which was shared this evening, Bradford Cathedral said: "It is with profound shock and sadness that we let you know that Bori (Borbala) Benko, aged 24, has tragically died.
"Bori has been a vital and energetic member of the cathedral community for over three years, and prior to that worked as a volunteer youth worker in the parish of Lexden, Colchester.
"Bori will be honoured and long remembered at the cathedral for her enthusiastic, generous and infectious faith, her warmth and commitment to serve others.
"Bori was a deeply committed Christian and was exploring the option of offering for ordination in the Church of England. She would have been confirmed this Sunday, 28 November.
"Please pray for all those affected by her untimely death, and in particular her parents and brother.
"There is a special place of prayer in Bradford Cathedral where candles can be lit, prayers said and comments written in a book of condolence for Bori and those affected by the tragic events of last Saturday night.
"May she be at peace with her lord and saviour and may her legacy live on in those she inspired."
Earlier, Bori's family said: “Bori will be very sadly missed by all her family and friends, both in Hungary and the wider community, along with the staff and children at the school where she worked.”
