A RAFT of Bradford pubs have been named in the latest edition of CAMRA’s (Campaign for Real Ale) Good Beer Guide.
All corners of the district are represented in this year’s guide, with larger establishments and breweries to small but thriving micropubs given a name check.
After the turmoil caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, punters are being urged to support their local.
The guide is considered the definitive beer drinker’s guide and pubs have spoken of their pride at being listed.
Daniel Horsman, landlord of long-standing city centre pub Jacobs Well, said: “It’s an honour to be in.
“We’ve got a beer guide in the pub from 1993 that we are in, so it feels good to be a part of that tradition.”
It was a particularly proud moment for the Black Rat in Thackley, which Alyson Boote and her husband Pete took on back in August.
She said: “It’s picking up, it’s doing really well, last week we were full to busting.
“We do sell a lot of beers from local breweries to keep that trade going.”
Alyson urged people to support their locals, adding: “If you don’t use them, you’ll lose them.”
But she also spoke of the important community aspect of pubs and how they bring people together.
