A search for long-lost relatives has resulted in a Cullingworth school linking up with youngsters in Australia.
When Grant Mitchell, head of performing arts at a Brisbane school, hunted down relatives in Keighley three years ago, he discovered he had links with Elizabeth Fleetwood, of Cullingworth.
And Mrs Fleetwood's husband is Mike Fleetwood - arts director of Parkside School in the village.
This week, the families have been reunited, and 18 year 12 and 13 pupils have travelled from Mr Mitchell's Cleveland High School with him to experience life at Parkside. In return, 10 students from the Cullingworth school will visit Brisbane in July.
Mr Fleetwood said: "It is fantastic. We both have similar roles as directors of arts; it is bizarre. Our students have been very excited about the visit.
"It is wonderful to find new members of your family and obviously this is also about the children experiencing a different culture."
Pupils from both schools will perform at the school tomorrow night and the Australian pupils will also go to Saltaire and York as part of their week-long visit.
