A WOMAN was arrested during a Remembrance Day service in Bradford this morning, police have confirmed.

The woman was arrested on suspicion of assaulting an officer and racially aggravated assault, after the incident unfolded near the Cenotaph.

Bystanders noted that the woman appeared "agitated", and that the incident "did disrupt the ceremony a little bit".

This afternoon, West Yorkshire Police gave a statement on what happened.

A spokesperson said: "A woman has been arrested following an assault on an officer in Bradford city centre.

"The woman, aged 30, was arrested at around 11.09am this morning on Prince's Way, after allegedly interrupting a Remembrance service.

"She was arrested on suspicion of assaulting a police officer and racially aggravated assault.

"She remains in police custody and enquiries are ongoing."
