RUNNERS at the Bradford City Runs on Sunday morning were in great spirits despite heavy rains that soaked participants and volunteers alike.
Hundreds of people took part in the event in windy and wet conditions over three distances: a 5km, a 10km and a half marathon along with a special kids' mile run, all on closed roads in and around City Park in the city centre.
Adrian Tolan, one of the organisers, said: "The conditions were challenging, but everybody was in a good mood despite the weather.
"The runners were mixing and chatting along the route and the volunteers from the athletics clubs were great considering the weather."
The popular route took in parts of Little Germany and the Broadway Shopping Centre, as well as the University of Bradford, Bradford College, City Hall and City Park.
Mr Tolan added: "It was great to be back after Covid and it was nice to come back to normality after lockdown.
"Everybody went away in high spirits because the sun came out just as the race was finishing."
