POLICE are investigating after it was reported that three females were allegedly spiked at a Bingley bar this morning.

Police were called shortly after 2am this morning to Maverick’s bar on Main Street, Bingley, to a report of potential drink/needle spiking incidents in the venue.

Officers and paramedics attended and three females reported concerns they had been spiked, with one of these females being taken to hospital as a precaution.

A Section 60 order was put in place to allow officers to stop and search people at the premises.

DI Suzanne Hall, of Bradford District CID, said: “We have been conducting enquiries today and will be reviewing CCTV from the venue.

“It can take some time to get full toxicology results and at this time we cannot confirm whether any of these females have been the victim of spiking.

“We understand though that people are concerned about suspected spiking in our bars and clubs. Hopefully the police response to last night’s incident demonstrates that we are taking these concerns seriously and acting on reports.”

If anyone thinks they've been a victim of spiking they are urged to report it as soon as possible.
