Bradford BID's annual pumpkin festival has been getting people into the spirit of Halloween.

The festival, which features a trail pumpkin displays dotted around the city centre, also included a pumpkin carving workshop run arts group Sand In Your Eye from 11am to 3am Friday outside of The Broadway Shopping Centre.

"It's been brilliant," said Jonny Noble, Bradford BID manager. "It's been really, really busy. We just gave away our 200th pumpkin and let families with children carve a pumpkin each.

He said people at the pumpkin carving were not deterred by a couple spells of heavy rain showers.

"I thought they were going to head for the hills, but they were proper Bradford folk and just put their hoods up and got on with it.

"To add some animation to the event, we had people dressed as pumpkin heads and scarecrows interacting with people."

He also said they were giving away leaflets or encouraging to download an app to walk around and visit of number of displays that are part of this year Bradford BID pumpkin festival.

There have been loads of people doing the trail," said Jonny. "There is footfall to some more unusual places around the city centre. We didn't want to make it too easy for people.

"We've had loads of feedback and a lot of thank-yous from people going away happy."
