HOMES across the city have been getting their spook on for Halloween in frightening fashion.
With the pandemic somewhat denting last year’s celebrations, people are glad to be back out trick-or-treating with their family and friends.
One property has been labelled the ‘scary house’ and has been terrifying the residents of Buttershaw for years.
Paula Bailey has once again gone all out and designed a haunted tunnel that runs from her gate to her front door filled with spine-tingling decorations.
That’s not all either, there will be a mythical creature greeting guests too.
She said: “It is just some fun for the kids. Their faces always light up when we decorate the house for Halloween. All the kids walk past and say that’s that ‘scary house’.
"We have got a werewolf outfit so someone is going to be dressed in that and stand near the gate. Then the kids have to walk through like a scary tunnel to get to the house and get their sweets.”
Anna Pawlus has also been busy trying to get in the spirit for her three-year-old son.
She added: “I always decorate at the beginning of October for my little boy, Adam. We’ve got all sorts of decorations from real carved pumpkins to spiders and ghosts. We will definitely go trick-or-treating and have a little Halloween party at home.”
