FIRE crews have put out a large fire at a log and coal storage building in Gomersal in the early hours of this morning.
Firefighters from Cleckheaton Fire Station were called at 2am today to Oxford Road, Gomersal after receiving reports of a storage building in a field being fully engulfed in flames.
A spokesperson from Cleckheaton Fire Station said: "The locked store was 100 per cent involved in fire. We used mainline jets to put it out.
He said that the building's corrugated metal roof had collapsed and the contents, a two-metre high supply of log and coal, were on fire.
"It was a big fire in the middle of a field, so we had to get water across the field, which was arduous. We used six lengths of 25-metre hose and a big jet to put it out."
