A FORMER library in Wrose has been reborn as a local coffee house as The Old Library celebrated its grand opening.
Lauren Ward and Jade Axon, who both live in Wrose, have already had a soft launch of the café and have been blown away by the support of local residents.
“We opened a week or two ago and can’t believe how busy we’ve been since. We’ve put our heart and souls into creating something we think will be a great asset for Wrose and we’re so happy people are enjoying what we have to offer.” said Lauren.
“We were trying to think of a name and realised everyone calls it the old library already and felt it was the perfect name for our new café. Everyone really loves it and we can’t wait to see everyone at the grand opening.” added Jade.
Plan to turn former library into cafe is approved
The official opening took place on Saturday, with the ribbon to be cut by the Leader of Bradford Council, Susan Hinchcliffe.
“We’re so pleased for Lauren and Jade. Wrose has really missed having a café on the high street so we were delighted to support them when they got in touch with their plans. With most of the library services moving to the Age UK hub next door this is a really positive event for Wrose.” said Cllr Hinchcliffe.
Plans to convert the library unit into a cafe were approved by Bradford Council earlier this year.
