AMANDA Owen, the Yorkshire Shepherdess, called into the Salts Mill in Saltaire last night to launch Wool Month.
The Yorkshire Shepherdess, who lives and farms with her husband Clive Owen and their nine children at Ravenseat Farm in Swaledale, spoke with local wool manufacturing companies, farmers and retailers at the historic Salts Mill on Thursday evening.
At the event, Mrs Owen, who is starring in the hit Channel 5 TV series, Our Yorkshire Farm, provided the insights into the life of a farmer and shepherdess and the custodian of sheep and the daily life involvement at the early stage of the wool lifecycle ahead of the many processing stages involved in creating the extensive range of products that wool can become.
The Campaign for Wool welcomed Mrs Owen to the event as a Wool Week has morphed into Wool Month for 2021 to highlight the many natural attributes and benefits of wool, both for people and the well-being of the planet.
