A TEENAGER had to be rushed to hospital with head injuries after a crash involving a car.
The collision happened on Whitehall Road (A58) in the Birkenshaw area at 2.48pm yesterday.
One onlooker said it was near the Mace shop on that road.
There was a police presence and the onlooker added that Whitehall Road was shut from the roundabout where it meets the A651, to the lights at its junction with Old Lane and Birkenshaw Lane.
The teenager was taken to hospital with head injuries.
These injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said: "Road traffic collision involving a car and a teenager at 2.48pm on Whitehall Road East.
"Teenager taken to hospital with head injuries not thought to be life threatening."
