THESE are the 11 worst drink drivers who have been punished in court in Bradford over the past three weeks.

All 11 of the men and women blew more than double the drink drive limit after being stopped, with the worst offender recording an alcohol level more than four times the limit.

They have all appeared at Bradford and Keighley Magistrates’ Court in the last three weeks, and all have been punished for their offending with driving bans, fines and community orders.

The legal limit for alcohol while driving is 35micrograms (mcg) per 100ml of breath, 80 milligrams (mg) per 100ml of blood, or 107mg per 100ml of urine.

The worst offender in court was Sarah Brown, 48, of Midgley Road, Burley-in-Wharfedale, who blew more than four times the limit when she was stopped at a filling station in Bradford Road, Burley-in-Wharfedale, on December 1, 2020.

She blew 161mcg in 100ml of breath and in court on October 6 was fined a total of £295, banned from driving for 36 months, and given a community order of 60 rehabilitation days.

That sentence also applied to a second offence on December 9 last year when she blew 71mcg after being stopped at Airedale Hospital.

The second worst offending was by 42-year-old Paul Curwen of Netherfield Road, Guiseley, who blew 119mcg in 100ml of breath – over three times the legal limit – after being stopped while driving his Audi TT along Bingley Road, Ilkley, on July 3.

He admitted the crime and in court on October 4 was fined a total of £180, banned from driving for 40 months, and ordered to do 10 rehabilitation days and 60 hours unpaid work.

Third on the list was Claire Cranmer, of Camomile Court, Thornton, who blew 105mcg in 100ml of breath, three times the legal limit, when stopped in Thornton Road on September 10.

The 34-year-old admitted the offence and in court on September 28 was fined £180, banned from driving for 26 months, ordered to do 60 hours unpaid work and not to drink any alcohol for 60 days.

Fourth was Luke Brooks, 41, of Oddy Street, Holme Wood, who was in court on September 29 when he admitted drink driving in his Audi A3 on August 29.

He blew more than double the limit with 98mcg per 100ml of breath and was fined £180, banned from driving for two years and ordered to do 80 hours of unpaid work.

Next up was Igor Dolganiuc, of Thornton Lane, Little Horton, who appeared in court on September 22 where he pleaded guilty to drink driving in John Street and Westgate in Bradford city centre on September 4.

The 33-year-old blew 89mcg per 100ml of breath and was fined a total of £635 and banned from driving for 22 months.

Next in was Liam Summers, 27, of Delph Terrace, Clayton, who admitted driving his Volkswagen Fox on September 4 in Ingleby Road while more than double the limit, blowing 86mcg per 100ml of breath.

He was fined a total of £1,035 and banned from driving for 20 months.

Edgars Lepa is next, who was fined £419 after admitting drink driving in Great Horton Road on September 8 in a VW Golf.

The 31-year-old, of Summerseat Place, Shearbridge, was fined £419 and banned from driving for 18 months for the offence of blowing 81mcg per 100ml of breath.

Next in was Sajad Hussain, 53, of Moor Park Close, Barkerend, who was caught drink driving in Moor Park Drive on October 17, 2020, and blew 76mcg per 100ml of breath.

In court on September 28 he changed his plea to guilty, and was fined £319 and given a six month driving ban.

Next up was Christopher Strickland, 42, of Peterborough Place, Undercliffe, who admitted blowing 74mcg per 100ml of breath in Leeds Old Road, Barkerend, on September 11 in an Audi A4.

He was fined a total of £239 and banned from driving for 40 months.

Keith Jackman, 65, of Foster Square, Denholme, was in court on September 29 where he admitted drink driving in Halifax Road in a Citroen Berlingo on April 29.

He had 203mg of alcohol per 100ml of blood, more than double the limit, and was also driving without valid insurance, and as a result was fined £259 and handed a 22 month driving ban.

Last but not least was Jodie Dibb, 33, of Abbotside Close, Thorpe Edge, who admitted drink driving in court on September 22.

She was stopped in Bradford Road, Keighley, on July 4 and was found to have 185mg per 100ml of blood, more than double the limit. She was fined £280 and banned from driving for 18 months.
