THESE are the 13 houses currently up for sale in the Bradford district for more than £1 million.
Each of the homes, located in different areas of the district, is all valued in excess of £1m, with any potential buyers needing deep pockets to move into the homes.
They range from a three-bedroom bungalow moulded into the countryside, to six, seven and nine-bedroom homes with huge gardens, acres of land, swimming pools and stables.
It comes as new figures from Zoopla reveal there are now 55 streets in Yorkshire and Humber where the average house value is over £1m, an increase of 43.5 per cent from a year earlier.
The average house price in Bradford currently stands at £146,162, rising to £204,922 when the district is incorporated, meaning a handful of homes are valued at ten times the average house in the district.
The most expensive property currently up for sale in the Bradford district is based in Hillings Lane, Menston, and is valued at £2.75 million.
The seven-bedroom contemporary home, which almost featured on the popular Grand Designs television series, has an open plan living-kitchen-dining room, cinema room, home gym, studio, four-car garage, 12 acres of land and stunning views of the surrounding countryside, and is located in the former Hawksworth Moor reservoir.
These are the 13 other properties across the Bradford district currently on the market for £1 million or more.
Curly Hill in Middleton, Ilkley, is on sale for £1.775m. The stunning five-bedroom home has extensive gardens giving a real sense of privacy and was purpose-built by the current owner 20 years ago.
It features three living rooms plus an open-plan kitchen/living area and dining room. Upstairs the master bedroom has an en-suite and south facing balcony. Outside is a triple garage, sweeping driveway and turning area, surrounded by manicured gardens.
The third most expensive house is located in Green Lane, Baildon, and is on the market for £1.75m; a five-bedroom property surrounded by 60 acres of agricultural land including grazing rights on Baildon Moor.
The farmhouse has two large living rooms, and beyond that a barn with planning approval for a four-bedroom property. It’s made of traditional stone and boasts panoramic views across the countryside and down towards Saltaire.
Another farmhouse is fourth on the list, on 33 acres in the Worth Valley. Bottoms Farm in Grey Stones Lane, Laycock, is described as an “idyllic rural location” and is valued at £1.45m.
It features a four-bedroom house, along with three detached cottages. It still has a range of period features such as exposed beams and mullion windows, and is described as ideal for a multi-generational family or those looking to run the cottages as holiday accommodation.
Next is Hillfoot in Ben Rhydding Drive, a 122-year-old six-bedroom home on the market for £1.425m which has been “immaculately maintained” by its current owners.
Below the six bedrooms are two lounges, a dining room, large kitchen and below that an expansive cellar area, sat in large, attractive gardens.
At £1.395m is Upper Isle Farm in Leeming, outside Oxenhope, a large six-bedroom home set in 10 acres of paddock land with stunning views of the Yorkshire Dales.
Set over three floors, it features three sitting rooms, its six bedrooms and a cinema room, along with a number of bathrooms, a barn and four stables. The property is marketed as being ideal for those involved in equestrian.
Next is a four-bedroom home in Owler Park Road, Ilkley, which costs a cool £1.2m, and has an impressive roadside appearance with a vast, sloping front lawn.
Inside the home retains a traditional appearance with wood panels and classic decorations, and outside there is a double garage surrounded by a large south-facing garden, as well as a well-kept front patio overlooking Ilkley Moor.
Coming in at £1.195m is the smallest property on the list of million-plus homes, but is also one of the most unusual, at Moor Lane in Burley-in-Wharfedale.
A three-bedroom bungalow it appears set into the landscape, the eco-friendly design features grassed sloping walls it’s based round an open-plan living and kitchen area with an additional sitting room, along with three bedrooms all presented to modern standards. The master bedroom also has a private terrace, and the home is surrounded by large gardens.
The next two properties, Wharfedale Court in Menston and Moorfield Road in Ilkley, would both set you back £1.15m and are both large modern detached houses.
Wharfedale Court is a six-bedroom home with large, modern gardens surrounding the sleek interior of the property finished to a high standard. Moorfield Road is a five-bed home with an attractive finish and a good-sized garden.
Priced at £1.1m is Acacia Park Crescent in Apperley Bridge, a six-bedroom home and the only million-plus home on sale with an outdoor swimming pool in the district.
Inside it is finished to a good standard with modern fittings, and has a large well-manicured garden, with stand-out features including a log burner, classic range and bespoke study room.
Squeaking onto the list at £1 million (but both asking for offers over) are Broadway House in Wakefield Road, Drighlington, and Hillthorpe in Pudsey, two very different properties.
Broadway House boasts an equestrian facility alongside the six-bed modern home, which has a kitchen-diner, living room and home spa, with a swimming pool, sauna and steam room.
Hillthorpe also has an indoor swimming pool, and mixes old and new with a classically styled living room, hallway, toilet and bedrooms alongside a more modern kitchen and of course, pool. The unique looking home mixes an old-fashioned, thin three-storey home with modern extensions backing onto large gardens.
