A MIDWIFE who served Bradford for nearly 50 years but died from Covid-19 last year has been commemorated with a lasting memorial at Bradford Royal Infirmary.
Chris Senior, of Scholes, died aged 67 at the beginning of the pandemic in March 2020 due to complications from Covid-19.
On Friday a piece a piece of artwork depicting a mother and her babies was unveiled in the maternity unit at BRI.
Chief Nurse, Karen Dawber said: “I am delighted to unveil this artwork by Leanne Pearce to honour community midwife, Chris Senior, who served the trust and the women and babies of Bradford and beyond for almost 50 years.
“Chris was a much-respected midwife who was passionate about the benefits of breastfeeding and who worked tirelessly to ensure the health of babies and mums in her care. She is much missed but her legacy will now endure through this piece of art for generations to come.”
