The Bishop of Bradford, the right reverend David James, will join civic and religious leaders in a series of lectures to spread a message of hope to the people of Bradford.
The first lecture in the Hope 08! Series will be held at Bradford Cathedral tonight from 7.30pm.
The bishop will be joined by Nuzar Ali, of the Islamic Society of Britain, and Tony Reeves, chief executive of Bradford Council, for the first lecture.
There will be seven more lectures in the series, held on the eighth of every month.
A spokesman for the cathedral said: "This programme draws upon the insights of people with national and international reputations, who reflect upon contemporary society and the nature of hope from a range of faith and secular perspectives.
"The speakers will motivate and encourage the many who work for change in the city.'' Details from the cathedral office on (01274) 777720.
