An 18-year-old man has been arrested after railway cable was stolen in Brighouse.
British Transport Police arrested the teenager after about 500 yards of cable was stolen from beside a train track in June.
He has been released on police bail pending inquiries.
Detective Chief Inspector Danny Snee, of BTP, said: "The theft of cable from the railway is an extremely dangerous crime which is costly to the rail industry and causes hours of delays to the thousands of passengers who rely on the rail network. The disruption that is caused really is an attack on the community."
