A MAN has been sent to prison for a spate of nearly 30 thefts in just over one month.
James John Richardson, 35, of no fixed abode, appeared before Bradford Magistrates’ Court earlier this month to be sentenced over the spree, which began at the beginning of August this year.
August 8 – Richardson stole an unknown value of spirits, meats and cheese from the Co-op in Steeton.
August 10 – Stole cooked meats and cheese worth £133 from the Co-op on Broomhill Avenue, Keighley and stole steaks worth £103 from Sainsbury’s in Keighley
August 12 – Stole aftershave worth £36 from Morrisons in Keighley
August 13 – Stole chocolate worth £75 from Poundland
August 15 – Stole cooked meats and cheese worth £95 from the Co-op on Broomhill Avenue, Keighley, and stole £200-worth of meat from the Co-op in Haworth.
August 16 – Stole chocolate worth £75 from Poundland
August 17 – Stole perfume worth £91.50 from Morrisons in Keighley
August 19 – Stole Vodka worth £56 from B&M in Keighley and chocolate worth £75 from Poundland in the town.
August 20 – Stole £90-worth of chocolate from Poundland in Keighley and meat worth £120 from the Co-op in Broomhill Avenue in Keighley.
August 24 – Stole aftershave worth £57.98 from Bodycare in Keighley; stole meat worth £93.50 from the Co-op in Steeton and stole spirits worth £150 from Asda on Bingley Street in Keighley.
August 25 -At Aldi in Keighley, Richardson stole gin worth £72
August 26 – Stole meat worth £150 from the Co-op in Silsden and vodka worth £71 from The Orchard in Keighley.
August 27 – From Sainsbury’s in Keighley stole gin worth £32 and stole six bottles of spirits worth £85 from B&M in Keighley.
August 28 – From Sainsbury’s in Keighley stole 11 bottles of spirits worth £110; five bottles of whiskey worth £90 and then from B&M, stole five bottles of spirits worth £85.
August 31 – Stole perfume worth £400 from the Fragrance Shop in Keighley
September 6 - Stole 12 tubs of chocolates worth £47.88 from Morrisons in Keighley
September 9 – Stole meat and cheese worth £100 from the Co-op in Broomhill Avenue, Keighley
September 10 - At the same Co-op, stole meat worth £68.
Richardson pleaded guilty to the offences and was sent to prison for 52 weeks and ordered to pay a surcharge of £156.
