SHELF FC, the Halifax Football League side, showed their goal scoring potential when they hosted Idle Reserves in Round One of the Bradford & District FA Saturday Senior Cup at the weekend.
A treble from Alex Swinback, to add to doubles from Fraser Allan, James Grace and one goal each scored by Sam Henderson, Jack Craig and Dylan Mateyak, securing the hosts a 10-1 victory over Idle Reserves.
St Bede’s Old Boy edged out their opponents Athletico Res 5-4 in a nine goal contest,with a brace from Jermain Moyce, and one apiece from Liam Williams, Brad Adleou , and Tye Akram.
Salts were involved in a tight cup tie with their host’s Wibsey before edging through to the next round with a 4-2 victory.
Tyersal had a single goal from Harry Hines to beat their fellow Yorkshire Amateur Legue rivals Idle 1-0.
Thackley Reserves also advanced when two goals each from Abdi Mohammed and Clavin Clavecillas ensured a 4-0 victory at Calverley Reserves.
Fields FC, who were expected to be one of the sides involved in latter stages of the competition, slipped up 3-0 away to Route One Rovers in Round Two, whilst Athletico had a comfortable 5-1 success away to Gomersal & Cleckheaton Reserves in the same round.
