OFFICERS carrying guns rushed to stop a vehicle believed to be linked to a firearms incident this morning.
There were initially reports of armed units descending on Nab Lane, in the Nab Wood area of Shipley, Bradford earlier today.
A witness said they saw several police vehicles, with armed police officers, and a number of suspects sat against a wall in handcuffs.
West Yorkshire Police confirmed this afternoon that it received a report of concern for safety relating to a vehicle believed to be linked to a firearms incident at 10.37am today.
Officers stopped the vehicle in the Shipley area shortly after.
The four occupants were detained while the vehicle was searched.
Police arrested all the occupants on suspicion of affray, following these initial checks.
The vehicle has also been recovered for further tests.
Enquiries are continuing.
A full statement from West Yorkshire Police said: "At 10.37am today (Wednesday) police received a report of concern for safety relating to a vehicle believed to be linked to a firearms incident.
"The vehicle was stopped in Shipley a short time later and the four occupants were detained while the vehicle was searched.
"The occupants were all arrested on suspicion of affray and the vehicle was recovered for further tests.
"Enquiries are continuing."
