A WOMAN received a community order after stealing more than £70 of air fresheners and batteries from a Bradford supermarket.
Laura Smith, 36, of Waincliffe House, in Laisterdyke, pleaded guilty to theft from a shop on June 17 at Leeds Magistrates' Court.
She was sentenced on August 26 at the same court, after several adjournments for various reasons, including for a pre-sentence report and for no appearance in answer to bail.
Smith stole £73 worth of air fresheners and batteries from the Morrisons store in Five Lane Ends, Idle, on March 9 this year.
The 36-year-old was handed a community order that included a Drug Rehabilitation Requirement and Rehabilitation Activity Requirement.
Smith must have treatment for drug dependency for nine months.
For the Rehabilitation Activity Requirement, she must comply with any instructions of the responsible officer to attend appointments (with the responsible officer or someone else nominated by them), or to participate in any activity as required by the responsible officer up to a maximum of 25 days.
There was no compensation or costs ordered for by the court due to the limited means of the defendant.
Smith's guilty plea was taken into account when sentencing.
