A KIRKLEES man has been jailed after a shotgun was found hidden in his house.
Lee Taylor, 31, was arrested from his home address in Sherwood Avenue, Huddersfield.
Officers recovered a shotgun. Taylor, who did not have a licence to be in possession of the firearm, was subsequently charged with possession of a prohibited weapon.
Taylor pleaded guilty and was sentenced to six years in prison on Thursday, September 9, at Leeds Crown Court.
West Yorkshire Police Detective Sergeant Johnson said: “Taylor was caught red-handed in possession of a firearm and we welcome his sentence.
“Firearms are dangerous weapons, they cost lives and can cause serious damage. If you’re caught with one and you don’t carry the right documentation, you will face the consequences.”
