POLICE have revealed they arrested two people for "falsely reporting a car" as stolen, after a horror crash on the M62.
The arrests related to a collision that happened on the eastbound carriageway of the motorway, after a police chase entered the Humberside area on Friday night.
West Yorkshire Police tried to stop a vehicle at 11.24pm.
But after a pursuit, the vehicle and two police vehicles collided and one of the emergency vehicles left the carriageway and hit a bridge stanchion.
A police officer suffered serious leg injuries in the crash.
The force already revealed on Saturday that four people from the non-police vehicle were arrested on suspicion of drugs offences.
But an update from police today revealed that two other people were arrested on suspicion of falsely reporting a car stolen.
All six arrested individuals have since been released on bail.
Three of the four originally arrested on suspicion of drugs offences were injured in the crash.
One suffered neck and back injuries, while the two others suffered minor injuries.
The crash caused major traffic delays on the M62 overnight between Friday and Saturday as emergency services dealt with the crash.
The M62 eastbound carriageway, between junction 34 and junction 35, also remained closed throughout much of Saturday as investigation work continued.
The Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) was notified of the crash, due to the nature of the incidnet.
