A MAN has made his first appearance in court charged with murder following the death of a Pudsey woman at Arthur's Seat in Edinburgh.
Kashif Anwar, 27, entered no plea as he appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court earlier today following the incident last Thursday.
Fawziyah Javed, 31, from Pudsey, had been at the ancient volcano Arthur's Seat, which is located in Holyrood Park and offers panoramic views of Edinburgh, on Thursday evening when she fell from the hillside.
Police and emergency services were called to the scene at around 9pm but Ms Javed died at the scene.
Anwar has been remanded in custody and is due to reappear in court within the next eight days.
He was charged over the death on Saturday.
It has been claimed locally that Ms Javed was in Edinburgh on a honeymoon, having got married last Sunday, when she died.
Police said in a statement on Saturday that her family have asked for privacy following her death.
