POLICE are appealing for witnesses and information following a serious crash in Birkenshaw at the weekend which left a man seriously injured.
The crash happened just before 10am on Saturday, September 4, in the A651 Bradford Road in Birkenshaw, at the junctions with Oswald Street and Croft Street.
It involved a blue BMW 3-series and a white Citroen DS4 which crashed head on, and the driver of the BMWa man in his 40s, was seriously injured and had to be taken to hospital for treatment.
Fire crews from Cleckheaton were called to the scene and had to free the injured man from the wreckage using a long board before he was taken to hospital via ambulance.
Police are now appealing for information about the incident, and are asking anyone who witnessed the crash or saw either of the cars prior to the incident to get in touch.
People who have CCTV or dashcam footage in particular are being asked to come forward.
