RESIDENTS are set to showcase over 80 entries at the Thackley and Idle Scarecrow Festival this year.
The event, which starts today and runs until Monday, will feature 81 scarecrow entries and the festival has been expanded to include Idle village.
One of the organisers, Helen Holmes, said last year's inaugural Thackley Scarecrow Festival was a great event for children who were restricted on what they could do because of Covid-19.
This year's event will see a lot of new residents taking part with approximately half of the entries to include new households.
With a number of sponsors on board to help advertise the event in the two villages, this year's festival is raising money for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance. Over £300 has already been raised.
Maps featuring the scarecrow entries, which cost a suggested donation of £1, are available at Idle Greetings, the White Bear, the Commercial Inn, McCallan's Deli and Coffee Shop and Nisa Local Thackley.
