DARWIN Group Ltd has started work to deliver a new project including a 15-bed high dependency unit (HDU) and a 30-bed general acute ward at Airedale Hospital.
Built using modern methods of construction and scheduled for completion in March 2022, the state-of-the-art accommodation will be built on a steep sloping site and connected back to the existing hospital corridor at ground floor level. A new under-croft space, on the lower ground floor, will accommodate the plant room for the new development.
Darwin Group’s in-house management team are working closely with Airedale NHS Foundation Trust's estates and facilities subsidiary AGH Solutions,to ensure minimal disruption to hospital’s services, as large parts of the project will be manufactured off-site in a factory.
David Moss, Managing Director of AGH Solutions, on behalf of Airedale NHS Foundation Trust said: “We are pleased that our building works are beginning, and that Darwin Group are working with us on this project. It will make a real difference to both our patients and our staff.”
