FAMILIES in Keighley are being invited to enjoy a bee-themed picnic event in Cliffe Castle Park today.
The Pollinators’ Picnic, from 11am-3pm, will have a bee and nature theme. Families can bring their own picnic, enjoy the entertainment and take part in activities.
The free event, organised by Bradford Council’s Museums and Galleries Service, will include:

• Bradford Council’s Libraries Service, promoting its 'Wild World Heroes' summer reading challenge with various activities, along with balloon modellers and face painting
• fancy dress characters
Park and museum in Keighley is recognised as being ‘bee friendly’
• bug hunting and arts and crafts with Keighley Creative
• Cliffe Castle Support Group providing brass rubbing and mini beast hunting
• Morrison's Keighley will provide bee activity packs and seeds
• Bradford Police Museum will also be hosting a display of historic police cars and motorcycles, dating back to 1960 and manned by volunteers in period police costume.
Councillor Sarah Ferriby, Portfolio Holder for Healthy People and Places, said: “This sounds like a packed programme of events and activities. It also gives people the chance to explore and enjoy the fantastic park.”
