BRADFORD has been ranked among the top 15 UK cities for cycling, according to a study.
After analysing metrics including the average cycling casualties per city, a city’s traffic rate, the cycling enthusiasm across the town and its people, and the recorded number of bike thefts within the area, The Compensation Experts has conducted a study to reveal the UK top 15 cycle friendly cities.
Bradford is in 12th place with an overall index score of 2.896 out of 4,000, recording 148 cycling incidents, traffic score of 1,566, cycling enthusiasm score of 0.217 and 264 bike thefts.
Cambridge comes away with an impressive index score of 3.248. This is helped by the city outranking all other UK locations for cycling enthusiasm, far ahead than Oxford and York who take second and third, respectively, for this category.
Oxford claims the runner up spot, placing as the second-best city across the UK for cycling, with an index score of 3.078.
