AN artisan burger company is expanding by opening up a new restaurant in the Bradford district.
Rumpus officially opens its new 30-seater branch on Bingley Road in Saltaire to the public from noon today.
The company is based in Slaithwaite, near Huddersfield, and uses meat from local longhorn cattle reared on its own farm. It opened its first restaurant in July 2017.
The Saltaire location will offer booth dining and features a menu of 10 burgers including Rooster - a chicken burger.
It also has a vegetarian option called The Allotment, which includes a falafel burger with onions, hummus, roast red pepper and halloumi cheese.
Bosses say its most popular item is the Longhorn burger, which features 6oz of Colne Valley beef served with smoked cheddar cheese, caramelised onions and bacon.
Every burger comes with fries and people can add to these with loaded fries options which will have a range of toppings.
Every two weeks the Saltaire site will have a new special added to its menu which will be first revealed on its social media channels, but this will begin later this month.
The Saltaire site will also be available for takeaways from next Monday.
Rumpus took over the previous shop that was occupied by butchers, Paul Binns of Saltaire, which moved to a larger unit further up Bingley Road last year.
Harry Garside, group manager, says he is part of a family business which also involves his father Tim and his uncle James Garside.
Harry said: "People can expect quite simple food done well and we have good ethics.
"We take pride in where the ingredients come from. All the beef is grassfed, which is good for the environment and for animal welfare.
"We will see how the second site goes before we think about opening up any more. We want to get things right. There is nothing in our sights at the moment.

"The takeaway side of the business does well, two out of three of our orders are takeaways. People will be able to order online through the app from the Saltaire restaurant from next Monday.
"We get very useful feedback on social media."
Mr Garside also said the company chose to expand in Saltaire due to its friendly atmosphere.
He added: "The village of Saltaire itself has many similarities to where we already are in Slaithwaite.
"Saltaire is on the up. It has a good atmosphere, a good vibe, it's a nice place and the nightlife is improving as well.
"Our restaurant should fit in well with what is already in Saltaire."
The restaurant will also include the installation of a state-of-the-art kitchen and extractor fan equipment.
Rumpus in Saltaire will be open Monday to Wednesday between 4pm and 9pm and Thursday to Sunday from noon to 9pm.
