POLICE have released an appeal after 27 sheep were killed in a worrying incident.
The livestock died in the Todmorden area after sheep worrying happened at some point between Friday and Saturday.
Sheep worrying is when a dog is chasing a sheep, or flock of sheep, and the animal or animals then endure suffering or injury.
Farmers have in the past had to shoot dogs that are worrying their sheep, and therefore putting at risk their livelihood.
The Countryside Alliance said 92 dogs were shot as a result of sheep worrying between 2013 and 2017.
