POLICE are appealing for a member of the public who helped them to apprehend suspected thieves yesterday afternoon to come forward.
Officers came across three men attempting to steal a catalytic converter from a vehicle parked in Spencer Road, Lidget Green, at around 1.45pm on Wednesday, August 4.
During the arrests, a member of the people helped apprehend one suspect but fell over, sustaining a head injury, before leaving the scene.
He appeared to be well when he left the scene but didn’t leave his details, and officers are urging him to come forward to make sure he is well and to also assist the investigation as a witness.
He is described as in his late 50s, of slim build, and wearing jeans and a blue t-shirt..
Any other witnesses to the incident are also being urged to get in touch with police to assist in the investigation.
The man in question and anyone else who can assist is asked to call police on 101, quoting log number 0796 of August 4.
