A MAN has been jailed for a total of six weeks for stealing a string of items, including cheese, from shops in the Bradford district.
Lewis Heckles, 23, of HM Prison Leeds, was jailed for six weeks for stealing a quantity of cheese worth £45 from Farmfoods, Cooke Lane, Keighley, on April 8, 2021.
He was also ordered to pay £10 compensation.
He was also jailed for six weeks, to run concurrently, for stealing chocolates worth £32 from Poundland, College Walk at the Airedale Shopping Centre on April 9, 2021.
Heckles was also ordered to pay £290.
He was also jailed for six weeks, to run concurrently, for stealing chocolate worth £160 from Poundland at Airedale Shopping Centre on April 10, 2021.
Heckles was sent to prison for six weeks, to run concurrently, for stealing Airwick refills worth £80 from Poundland at Airedale Shopping Centre on April 12, 2021.
He was sentenced to six weeks in prison, to run concurrently, for stealing three jars of coffee and two boxes of tea bags worth £23 from Poundland at Airedale Shopping Centre, on April 19, 2021.
Heckles, who pleaded guilty to all charges, was jailed because the number and nature of the offences shows he is operating as a professional criminal.
He was sentenced at Bradford & Keighley Magistrates' Court on July 15, 2021.
