THESE stunning photographs were taken by a budding young snapper - who is only 10 years old.
Zarah Bailey, from Keighley, has a passion for photography and loves going out with her dad, Philip, 35, to capture stunning shots. Her talent has also caught the attention of teachers at her school, Parkwood Primary, with Zarah becoming their “resident photographer” on trips out.
Proud dad Philip said: “I’m into my photography, I love going out and taking pictures and my mum, who lives in Spain, sent Zarah a camera across so she could get involved. She just loves snapping away.”
Among her favourite things to take pictures of are animals, flowers and landscapes, but she also enjoys going along with her dad to take pictures of steam trains as they storm through the region.
She captured one photograph of the Flying Scotsman as the famous locomotive stormed its way through Ais Gill, on the Settle & Carlisle Railway.
Zarah has had some setbacks with her health and so isn’t able to take part in certain things, but is a natural behind the camera, and gets involved on school trips by putting her skills to use to capture their days out.
Her school report said: “I have loved Zarah sharing her photography skills with us recently - both by sharing with us her photo in the paper [the T&A’s sister paper the Keighley News] but also being our resident photographer on school trips etc.”
Philip said: “They [teachers] were really impressed with what she did. I’m so proud of her, it’s not something I ever thought she would want to do - she enjoys doing it and I enjoy doing it. It’s brilliant when it’s nice weather, we just jump in the car. When it was lambing season, Zarah loved going and taking pictures of lambs.”
Zarah said one of her favourite pictures she has taken was an autumnal image at Cliffe Castle.
She said: “There was so many different colours of leaves falling off the trees, that was my favourite.”
Speaking about her passion, she said: “I feel so happy, it feels really good and I love taking pictures.”
