A TEENAGER has denied murdering a man who was stabbed in a Skipton park last week.
Brooklyn Bell, 18, of Parkwood Rise, Keighley, made his first appearance at Bradford Crown Court today.
He pleaded not guilty to murdering Simon McMinn on July 28 and his trial was fixed to begin on January 17 next year.
Bell appeared at York Magistrates’ Court on Monday and was sent to Bradford Crown Court.
Today, he wore a light blue t-shirt when he appeared before the court on a video link to HMP Hull where he is remanded on the young offender wing.
The court was told that Mr McMinn, who was in his forties, died after he was stabbed twice in the back and once in the right shoulder in Aireville Park.
The Recorder of Bradford, Judge Richard Mansell QC, adjourned the case until October 12 for a full plea and trial preparation hearing at the request of defence barrister Adam Birkby.
Judge Mansell said the case would be tried by a High Court Judge, himself or Judge Jonathan Rose.
Bell was remanded back into custody.
