A 74-YEAR-OLD driver has died after a crash near a retail park.
West Yorkshire Police was called to a road traffic collision on Holden Ing Way, next to the Birstall Retail Park, at 6.50pm yesterday evening.
The crash involved a white Fiat Doblo van and a Mitsubishi Colt and was on the roundabout close to the shopping park.
The Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS) was also called to the scene and rushed one patient to Leeds General Infirmary (LGI).
It is believed the driver of the Doblo, a 74-year-old man, suffered a medical episode prior to the collision.
He was later sadly confirmed deceased.
The occupants of the other vehicle were uninjured.
Police have issued an appeal following the crash and man's death.
They would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision, or the circumstances leading up to it.
Officers would also like to hear from those who may have video footage of the crash.
