POLICE are appealing for information after a man was assaulted last night.
Officers were called to Cock Hill Lane, Shelf, at around 10.10pm.
There are reports the police helicopter was also scrambled to the scene.
A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: "On arrival, officers found a 49-year-old man that had been assaulted and suffered minor injuries.
"It was first reported that there was believed to be a firearms discharge but there is no evidence to suggest any weapon was fired at the location.
"Enquiries remain ongoing into the circumstances of the incident.
"Anyone with information is asked to contact Calderdale CID on 101 quoting crime reference 13210390547.
"Information can be given anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
