A TEENAGE motorcyclist was thrown off his bike and suffered serious injuries after colliding with a car on Harrogate Road.

The teen is believed to have been travelling in convoy with a quad bike. The rider of the quad did not remain at the scene.

The serious road traffic collision happened at the junction with Leeds Road at around 3:40pm yesterday and involved a black Vauxhall Corsa and a black/red BMW motorcycle.

The Corsa was turning right from Harrogate Road onto Leeds Road. As it was doing so, it collided with the motorcycle.

A Yorkshire Ambulance Service spokesperson said the air ambulance was in attendance, along with two rapid response vehicles and two ambulances.

Two people were taken by land ambulance to hospital. One person with head injuries was taken to Bradford Royal Infirmary, while the other person, who had head and chest injuries went to Leeds General Infirmary.

Officers from the Major Collision Enquiry Team (MCET) are appealing for any witnesses to the collision, anyone who may have seen the circumstances leading up to the incident or anyone with video footage of the incident or circumstances leading up to it to come forward.

Officers would also like to hear from anyone who may know anything about the quad bike, who was riding it and where it might be located.
