THE Keighley man who sadly lost his life in a multi-vehicle collision only went down Moor Road because his usual route was unavailable, one of his co-workers has said.
Kyle Goater, 25, died in a car crash yesterday on the road between Ilkley and Menston in Burley in Wharfedale.
Kyle was a Mechanical Engineer at Ilkley-based Olicana Products Ltd of six years and was on his way back to his Keighley home when the incident occurred.
One of his co-workers described him as a 'well-respected' member of the team and an 'all-round good guy'.
Production manager at the firm, Hadleighson Standing, said: “It has come as a massive shock to us all, it is tragic.
“It happened on his way home from work. I believe he had to take a different route because a road was shut on his normal route.
"He was a well-respected member of the team. I am still a bit numb to it all. He was a great lad.
“He has worked here for about six years; we saw him grow from a boy to a man.
“It is a really tight team here. We work very closely with each other. Kyle blended in with everybody.
"He enjoyed his cars and was a great engineer. He was very technically astute, just an good all-round guy. We will miss him immensely."
