A NEW Lidl supermarket in the Bradford district will open its doors next week, creating around 40 new jobs.
The store, on Harrogate Road, Eccleshill, will open to shoppers on Thursday, July 29.
It forms part of the company’s ongoing £1.3bn expansion and regeneration plans across Great Britain for 2021 and 2022.
The supermarket will create around 40 new jobs and will feature facilities including a 1,256m2 sales area, an in-store bakery, customer toilets and parking for both cars and bicycles.
The new store will provide surplus produce and customer donations to a number of local charities, including Feversham Education Trust, which provides food to support families in the area.
This is delivered through Lidl’s Feed it Back scheme, which is run in partnership with Neighbourly and connects Lidl stores with local charities, foodbanks, community cafes and kitchens, putting quality food surplus to good use,
A spokesperson for Lidl GB said: “We would like to thank all those who have played a part in bringing this new Lidl store to Eccleshill.
"It is great for us to be able to create more jobs and investment opportunities in the area, and we can’t wait to start serving our multi-award winning products to the local community.”
The spokesperson added: "As per the latest government guidance, while no longer legally required, it is recommended that those who can, continue to wear face coverings in crowded or indoor spaces, including when visiting our stores in England.
"Across all of our stores, dedicated cleaning stations at entrances, hand sanitiser, and protective screens at checkouts will also remain in place."
The store opening times will be: 8am - 10pm Monday to Saturday, and 10am – 4pm on Sunday.
During the first week of opening, exclusive deals and offers will be available on selected products including a Silvercrest Milk Frother on July 29 (£9.99), a Sun Shade on July 30 (£9.99), as well as a Plunge Saw PTSS 1200 C1 with guide rail on July 31 (£34.99).
