POLICE and the air ambulance scrambled to a river this lunchtime to save a man.
West Yorkshire Police was called at 12.15pm to reports of a man in the river off Fell Lane, in Keighley.
It is believed the man was in North Beck.
Locals reported seeing the Yorkshire Air Ambulance helicopter circling Keighley, before landing just off North Dean Road.
Sarah Sunderland took a picture of the aircraft.
She said: "It's a well known swimming spot with a stream and a waterfall, but there's been a lot of fatalities, as people don't realise how shallow it is."
A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said the man is now safe.
The T&A has also contacted Yorkshire Air Ambulance for comment.
