A PLANNING application for one of the biggest developments in Bradford city centre has finally been submitted.
Plans for a new office development on the site of the former Tyrls Police Station in City park have been in the pipeline for years.
Bradford Council has argued that the "One City Park" development was needed due to a lack of Grade A office space in the city.
The 56,000 sq ft office building is expected to cost around £35m, with some of the money coming from the Government's Getting Building Fund.
The plans are supported by West Yorkshire Combined Authority and Bradford Council.
Yesterday the planning application for the development was submitted - revealing more details about the proposals.
The application, by Muse Developments, is for a five storey office building with retail or leisure space on the ground floor and the creation of new public realm around the site.
It says around 450 jobs will be based in the new building, and that the development will "complete" City Park.
Proposals to build new offices on the site have been mooted for the best part of a decade, and a previous application for the site had been approved in 2014, although the development never began.

The area is currently used as a temporary park.
Although Bradford Council has said the development will be a much needed boost to the city centre, and would attract high end businesses, there has been criticism of such an investment being made at a time when the future of office working is uncertain.
The new office building will have 20 car parking spaces in the basement, all of which will have electric car charging points, and 64 cycle parking spaces.
The application, which runs into hundreds of pages, reveals how plans for the site have changed since One City Park was announced. Originally the development included the large office building and a second building on the Southern area of the site.
However, this second building has been removed from the latest plan, and this area will now be kept as a public space.
There will be a number of passive measures incorporated in the building to reduce energy consumption.
The building would be linked to City Park by ramps and large steps that could also act as seating for the public space.
The application says: "Muse has sought to create a high quality landmark building within the centre of Bradford.
"The site will act as the premier destination for business headquarters in line with the proposed vision for Bradford City Centre.
"The development would create 452 jobs, and this could be significantly more depending on occupiers and also accounting for potential changing work practices.
"The proposal will result in significant economic benefits for the District and will support and improve the vitality and viability of Bradford city centre.
"The scheme is designed to be of high architectural quality. The existing green space to the South will be retained and enhanced as a public park.
"The building will provide enclosure to the public realm, essentially completing City Park which is currently exposed to a high trafficked road."
A decision on the application is expected in October.
